BBC Chats to Arnolds Autos in Hull

BBC Radio Humberside recently contacted Good Garage Scheme member, Arnolds Autos in Hull for an interview on the radio and spoke with Garage Administrator, Lisa Carter.

The station wanted Lisa's advice on a story regarding RAC's finding that 60% of motorists lack trust in garages.
The BBC research team found Arnold's Autos quickly on the Good Garage Scheme website and contacted them first as they show the highest number of customer feedbacks in Hull.

Lisa told the Good Garage Scheme that their garage provides every customer with a feedback form and knows that a lot of their business comes via the Good Garage Scheme because they ask their customers at each visit.

The BBC asked why customers choose Arnolds Autos and the reply  from Lisa was simply, "Trust. We quote for the work before the job starts and keep the customer informed."

She also mentioned that they provide a service checklist and that the Good Garage Scheme is advertised on TV.  Lisa said that quite a few customers heard the interview on the radio and mentioned it when they visited the garage.

Arnolds Autos have been a valued member of the Good Garage Scheme since 2008 and have a 99.2% star rating from over 1100 feedbacks.

Lucky Motorist Wins Back the Cost of His Service

Mr Andrew Hendry has won £200 towards the cost of his recent car service at Good Garage Scheme member garage, Budget Auto Centre in Stirling. Mr Hendry’s feedback card was picked at random from over 47,000 customer feedback forms submitted by member garages throughout the UK in the first part of the year. Good Garage Scheme customers are encouraged to provide their feedback about member garages to help drivers visiting www.goodgaragescheme.com make an informed decision when choosing a local garage to service or repair their vehicle.

Mr Hendry lives in the Borders but insists on booking his car in for a service at Budget Auto Centre as he trusts them. He awarded the team at Budget with a maximum five-star rating for work carried out and in his feedback commented: “The repairs were shown and explained, also the parts to be replaced were kept and shown where they were faulty. I have never had that quality of service anywhere else. They repair faults, but don’t create ones for more work – give them six stars!”

Collecting Your Car After a Service

All Good Garage Scheme members promise to perform services to a strict Code of Conduct and will always have a customer’s best interests at heart.

The fifth item on the Good Garage Scheme's Code of Conduct states the garage must “… make parts replaced during service or repair available for inspection by the customer.”
Any reputable garage should do this anyway, but motorists visiting a Good Garage Scheme can be assured that they will be treated fairly.

If you wish to see any parts that have been replaced during a service or repair, it is your right to ask and the Good Garage Scheme member’s duty to show the parts. It is all about building a relationship with the garage. After all, you are entrusting them with one of the most expensive items you own.

You will receive a checklist for work carried out as proof of a job well done and have the opportunity to fill in a feedback card or online feedback following your experience.

4000 Customers Feed Back at Lockwood & Greenwood


Good Garage Scheme member Lockwood & Greenwood in Ashton-under-Lyne has reached the milestone of a massive 4,000 customer service feedback reports from local motorists on the Good Garage Scheme website.

South Wales Motorist Wins Good Garage Scheme Prize

Good Garage Scheme representative, Simon Wilcox, presented the cheque to a delighted Mr Jones who lives in South Wales but found SPG (UK) Ltd garage on www.GoodGarageScheme.com when looking for a garage to service his car close to where he works. He filled in a feedback card giving SPG a 5 Star rating for the work carried out and commented, "Excellent communication, great service, polite staff, highly recommended!"

Top Feedback Awards 2013

The scores are in and the Good Garage Scheme is pleased to congratulate member garages who have received the most feedback from their customers in 2013.

For the second year running, top prize goes to Lockwood & Greenwood in Ashton-under-Lyne who received an incredible 763 feedbacks during the year. They also collect the award for the Regional Winner for 2013 as well. Congratulations to the team at Lockwood & Greenwood with over 3800 customer feedbacks in total.

Feedback is at the heart of the Good Garage Scheme. It is useful for the garage to be thanked for a job well done and also very useful in helping them to improve their business. From the motorist's point of view, it helps them to make an educated choice as to where they will take their car.

Leave Feedback And Win

Having a service or repair carried out at a Good Garage Scheme member garage may not cost you a penny.

Every customer who leaves feedback with comments after having had work done at a Good Garage Scheme member garage is in with a chance to win the cost of the service or repair back*.

It couldn't be easier, and there are three ways to leave feedback:

1. Fill in a feedback card you receive with your documentation.
2. Visit the Good Garage Scheme's website
3. Download the Good Garage Scheme's free App and leave your feedback there

There are over 629,000 feedback items from previous customers listed on the Good Garage Scheme website so that motorists can make an educated decision before they take their car to a garage for a service.

The Good Garage Scheme will award two lucky customers up to £200 each for the cost of a service or repair this year.

With the catchphrase ‘It’s like having a friend in the know’, the latest Good Garage Scheme advertising campaign will run on SKY television from 13th to 24th of May. The advertisement will appear over 300 times during the two week period reaching millions of viewers.

The new campaign follows previous successful campaigns on ITV 1, ITV 2 and DAVE, reminding motorists how easy it is to find a garage they can trust for their next service, repair or MOT. After all, a car is probably the second most expensive item owned by a consumer after the home. Why not shop around for someone you can trust to look after it?
